Debt Consolidator

January 26, 2010 - 10:27 am No Comments

It seems that times are tough for everyone since jobs have been hard to maintain with the changes in the economy. More and more people are finding that they are knee deep in debt with various creditors with little hope to get themselves out of it. This is where a debt consolidator can really help. They can work with creditors and in many cases get those high interest rates reduced or even eliminated. However, most people have heard of debt consolidation or credit counseling but they are not sure of exactly what it is or what a debt consolidator can do for them.

Essential Oils

In their pure state, essential oils are some of the most concentrated natural extracts known, exhibiting significant and immediate antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and hormone-balancing effects. Essential oils are some of the oldest and most powerful therapeutic agents known. Most people today are unaware that they have an impressive, multi-millennium long history of use in healing and anointing throughout the ancient world. Dozens of essential oils are cited repeatedly in Judeo-Christian religious texts and records show they were used to treat virtually every ailment known to man at that time. Frankincense, myrrh, lotus, cedarwood, and sandalwood oils were widely used in ancient Egyptian purification and embalming rituals. Other oils, like cinnamon, clove and lemon, were highly valued as antiseptics hundreds of years before the development of today’s synthetic medicines.

Wax Hair Removal

January 22, 2010 - 11:08 am No Comments

Probably the most popular of all the budget-conscious, do-it-yourself hair remover methods is waxing. This is performed by applying either hot or cold wax on the skin, allowing it to adhere a little bit, laying down a piece of porous strip of paper and then quickly pulling away the said paper with the hairs attached to it. However, although it is very effective, waxing can get messy and painful, not to mention that consistency is a difficult goal to attain. Still, if you want a smoother-looking skin especially when you are off to the beach in your bikini, waxing is the preferred method.

Wax Hair Remover

A popular hair remover among women is waxing. The wax is heated and while warm is spread across the area where hair is to be removed. This is used on unwanted facial hair and hair on legs and arms, and the bikini area. Waxing gives better results. The skin surface feels smooth to the touch and hair re-growth is observed after three days to a week. There are several variations when using wax hair remover. If hard wax is used, there is no need to use strips to peel off the wax. Softer wax, which is commonly as facial hair removal are stripped off with waxing strips just as it is done in beauty salons. However, most individuals shy away from this procedure because it is excruciatingly painful and the result is not permanent though it takes a little longer for hair to grow back. The torturous procedure has to be repeated when hair is long enough to be waxed and that would entail waxing every other week, depending on how fast hair grows back.

Dishwashers - portable or static

January 22, 2010 - 9:33 am No Comments

If you have a smaller kitchen space or maybe you want the luxury of a dishwasher in your games room/bar.

You may want to consider a portable dishwasher

This would give you the ability to save space but still have the benefit of having your washing up done for you.

The most popular models seem to be the 18 inch versions. Although there are some 24 inch portable versions which are just as good and do take a higher capacity.

Website Design Commissions?

January 21, 2010 - 10:00 pm 1 Comment

When someone pays you to create a website for them, how does it all work?

What is the pricing and how is that worked out? For example, is it per page? And basic website vs complicated design?

What sort of info do you promt from the client and when do you show them progress in case they want things changed (an obvious one would be the mock ups/comps, but when else)? When is payment made? Should a contract be signed also?

What if the client wants you to make a small update in the future? How much do you charge them?

Any other tips?

Thank you. :)
I’m a young graphic designer…
I’m not sure about web designing…

but I think you’re suppose to plan on how it all work out

I see some web designers out there get paid per pages sometimes per hour or watchu call it and yea…

I don’t know much about web designing
I think*

but
I think a basic web layout would be ok (don’t make it too basic…try to make it a bit unique too)
it looks more professional looking…like it has more spacing or watever
I don’t know how to explain it, but yea…

a complicated design is only complicated if you can’t design it…
so I guess any thing can be complicated or not…
ahaha…bad joke -_-’
sorry

anywaise
I mostly use as much javascript as I can in my web designs…

I’m working on a website now and I’m not finish yet (it will take a while till I finish it because I’m really busy these days), so…sorry I can’t show you what I mean, but yea…
hopefully my advice helps alittle

I don’t know as much when it comes to web designing…
I only know so little

about the contract thing…
yes, you should write a contract for them to sign (just incase)
it’s always good to have a backup
the payment should be decided by you and how much you put your effort into you your work

If a client wants to make a small update in the future…
I would probly charge them depending on the time and/or effort I took on a design

well hopefully that helps somehow

I guess another good tip is…
don’t use as much flash if you’re planning to use it on your designs
I heard it can slow down your website…
that’s why I often use javascipt menus in my web designs

bless

Shall I use the Home Learning College to gain the skills I need to become a website designer?

January 21, 2010 - 9:58 pm 2 Comments

Hi there

Im think of becoming a website designer as I am an artist and creative. I also enjoy using computers so I feel this would be very good for me. I found the website Home Learning College who offer distance learning courses in this field and was thinking of doing what of there courses.

Has anyone used this company before and are they good? What was your experience?

Would appreciate any help

Thank you

Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

I did this course 4 years ago because I wanted to build my own web site. The help and support I received from my tutor was so encouraging that I passed every one of my course assignments with a distinction and also my final exam. I had no previous experience in this field and I found that the way the course was structured that I could study whilst looking after my new born baby. After completing the course I went on to set up my own Web Design company which means I’m a stay at home Mother and can enjoy all the benefits which working from home offers. I couldn’t think of a better way to learn about this subject than by doing so though the Home Learning College and really wish they also did a programming course.

Good Luck

Philippa
