they go around cheating small busines out of they money.
this company stay away from them they owe me money and refused to pay me back

Barrow on Soar?

Just a couple of ideas for you….
You could take them to the small claims court to get your money back, i have done this several times and although it can be a bit of work its well worth it to get your money back.
Also, i think you should name and shame them in the Echo, am sure they would be only too pleased to let you put an article in there.
I will also make sure I now tell everyone i know in the area aswell!!
Hope you get your money back

PS if you do decide to take them to court through the small claims court and need a hand I can give you some advice and links to follow. Just say on here and we can swap details

Good luck!!

Does anyone know any website formation companies?

October 19, 2009 - 7:53 am 3 Comments

Does anyone know any website formation companies, who can take on my project idea to build a site that operates on the scale of ebay, but is different from them? I’ve already contacted a British web design company, but they say it will take months to form, and be too complex for them to handle, so where do I go to, with a good business idea? Please help.

Building the sort of site you’re talking about and raising awareness of it is not a five minute job. It is an extremely sophisticated piece of web writing that’s used for the sort of thing you envisage.

In order for anyone to take it on, they need to know what the payback is likely to be. Because of what’s involved, they won’t start it as a speculative venture.

Do you have money to pay them for creating a prototype site?

Have you put together a plan for how the site could grow and be profitable?

It may be worth contacting your local Business Link to ask their advice on how you can take this forward. They’ll give you help for putting together a plan to present to investors. Most of their advice is free.

If it’s a really great idea, it might be worth pitching to Dragons’ Den. They’ll need to be shown exactly how it will work and the returns for their investment. You’ve seen them shred people who don’t have all the facts and figures to hand.

Good luck!

Is it possible that a logo design company offers a free website design service?

October 17, 2009 - 5:31 am 4 Comments

Some companies practice a loss-leader strategy where they offer a product at a loss to entice customers to buy related services. You should be careful of companies that do this as often you will spend more money in the long run.

Logo Design has a different set of prices than web design. With graphic design, there are less factors to account for. Quality web designers focus on their customer’s needs and research their market so that the site they develop will be well worth the cost. This type of service tends to cost more, and nothing other than the client doing most of the work themself can reduce the cost. At most, you might get a bare-bones 3-5 page website for $200, even then it will be a loss-leader strategy which counts on you needing to spend much more money in the long run to get what you want.

Hi
I was on craigslist and I found say all of businesses asking for a website designer. I have created websites before by following videos on youtube. About how much do you think I could get per website.

My brother sells his best for 600 to 1000 euro because he needs the money… Maybe if you push the price a bit you might get 1200 too…

What are the benefits of having an interactive website design?

October 7, 2009 - 10:38 am 3 Comments

Can anyone tell me about the advantages of interactive web site design ?Any company that provides interactive website designing services.

Hi john,

A website with interactive design attracts more visitors than any static website. It draws visitors, holds their interest and encourages them to take some action. If you use interactive design, your website can benefit in several ways such as:

 -An interactive website provides a platform to the visitor to interact freely, share views, give opinion etc. This way, your customers get the opportunity to interact with you, the site owner as well as others who visit it and they feel encouraged to return to the website again.

- Second, you can conduct a research or a survey on your website. You can ask your customers what they liked about your product and what were the shortcomings? These surveys help you in figuring out where you are falling short of customer’s expectations and what steps you should take to overcome those shortcomings.

-An advanced interactive web site design also aids in e-mail marketing.

-With the help of interactive web designs, you can conveniently make changes in your website as and when you desire without taking the help of any professional website designer.

There are many companies that provide interactive web site designing.

Who owns the copyright of a website design in insolvency and unpaid wages?

October 3, 2009 - 7:16 am 5 Comments

If a web design company you work for becomes insolvent and does not pay you your wages for the last month you have worked. Who owns the copyright of the work you have produced (website designs and logo’s) during that month of employment that you have not been paid for or compensated for?

The company (or its subsequent administration) owns all work you produce up to and upon project completion, unless specified otherwise in a contract. However you also are legally entitled to your payment for it no matter what happens to the company.
