The Strange Names of Spices

Tell me to name five spices and I can not even one! Or maybe I can name only three – rosemary, garlic and pepper and that’s it! Do we really need to know the names of spices? Maybe for those who are into cooking, it is imperative. But for people, like me, who does not bother to know what is the sandwich I am eating called; maybe we can live without knowing it. I will just be contented that I know that I have to request a pepper if I want my food to be a little spicy but not to know the whole recipe and be bombarded with tons of names of spices.
