Part 6. TNAT information Technate Design Technocracy

September 10, 2009 - 2:13 pm

This is a series of lectures given by a member of TechnocracyInc. This series explains basics of the Technate design for North America.
This series was recorded in 1980. The information presented, accurately portrays the Technate design for North America.
That information is also available in the original paper copy of the Technocracy Study Course… the precedent document regarding the Technate scientific social design.
The Technate design precludes special interest groups.
It is based on science and is not an oligarchic belief system concept.
It uses a system called energy accounting. It is not a political system.
It is not connected to any other groups or ideas other than the Technical Alliance… the original group that presented these ideas.
The Technate design is the viable alternative to the current Price System method.
Investigate and join with us to make the information concerning this subject available to interested parties.
As our resource base becomes destroyed we begin to bumper up on a time when real alternative ideas must be used if survival is desired.
The Technate design provides abundance within the context of sustainability.
It does not use the scarcity based system that has been employed in the past (the Price System).
The use of mechanical energy has altered the reference points concerning how a society can be governed. Functional governance is now possible. The Technate design is secular and humanitarian… creative and imaginitive.

    I work as a …
I work as a software developer (aka programmer). I don’t see my job being eliminated by higher technology anytime soon. Maybe in 15-25 years, but currently nobody can design and create a system without deep knowledge and experience in this field. I do understand what you mean by fake jobs though. For instance, in our industry less than 30% of workers actually produce something. The other staff is there for selling, pitching, marketing, accounting, management, advertisement and other overhead.

  2. TBonePickensetc Says:

    Sad reality…- …
Sad reality…- That system is about to go under thought and for better or worse we will be experimenting with large scale social change very soon. Good time to drop out and turn your back on the current system if that is at all possible.
Technology destroys the Price System now by eliminating purchasing power.
Although fake jobs can be created to keep the social control yoke on… even that will not succeed now because of mechanization and energy conversion.

  3. Indrius Says:

    I work 8 hours a …
I work 8 hours a day, 5 days per week. Add to that 1 hour for lunch and about 30 mins for travel to and back to work (I live not far from the workplace). That takes almost 10 hours a day out of my life. One thing I notice is that even if you have money to spend, you simply have no time and energy for that. Other businesses work at the same time as me so it’s very hard to visit them and use their services. And when you’re tired at the end of the day you simply don’t want to do anything at all.

  4. TBonePickensetc Says:

    Sounds like a good …
Sounds like a good idea… Pity that people spend such a ridiculous amount of time working in the Price System… as wage slaves.
As a social control mechanism it is failing now also… because technology destroys the price system… exponentially.

  5. lvecsey Says:

In March I will do …
In March I will do my best to go on a personal Technocracy “Group I” calendar. The idea is to continue my projects on this schedule, and see if I can boost my productivity rather than abiding by the usual Sat/Sun tactic for breaks. If you’re a consultant already or have an otherwise flexible schedule you could try it too.

  6. TBonePickensetc Says:

    Yes,now you know. …
Yes,now you know. In fact the situation has gotten progressively worse since then because of destruction of the resource based in order to make more ‘debt tokens’. Right now we can still change, but the clock is ticking and our program must be implement very soon. It may be by default, its either that or we destroy the world for desultory reasons. The religious and political dissemblers, and the phony spiritualist/witchdoctors will not go away easily though but as they remain no good ending occurs.

  7. uea978 Says:

    I have just read …
I have just read the “I Am the Price System!” essay, and it is amazing. it’s incredible that it was writen in 1944, and we are still in this mess! I think i’m going to live to Mars……Oh, the humanity!

  8. TBonePickensetc Says:

    Mostly the …
Mostly the questions you are asking are nonstarters and the Technate design deals with all this. Explore more information particularly TNAT files to answer some if not all these questions. North American currently has about 52% of the overall resource base of the world. Russia about 32%. That makes social change possible. Trained personnel, installed technology, and resource base. For now that makes these two land areas the first places to change over. Technology may help the other areas later.

  9. TBonePickensetc Says:

    The current problem …
The current problem is brainwashing with bad information, but mostly that is just the Price System which we have now by default, not conspiracy. The Technate design is for North America for starters. Taking on the world will not work currently because of over population and other issues. This would be a start, the rest of the world in areas can incorporate a technate to the best of their ability, with our nominal help and most importantly our example.

  10. dozerking Says:

    My one concern is, …
My one concern is, “the rest of the world”, and how we would trade or otherwise conduct relations with them. Even if we were self reliant, we’d still want to share culture and benefit from resources that are better suited in other parts of the world.Would each private company have to follow the Functional Calendar system? What about people that have special training to do certain things like programing, that others cannot do?How about Artists that can’t be duplicated? What about entrepreneurs?

  11. dozerking Says:

    I’m extremely …
I’m extremely curious about this system, and the more I read about it,the more “seduced” I am of it and how it could be implemented on a worldwide scale.
I must admit, as a person who loves Science and Technology in all forms,I have a very hard time rationalizing this system in my head because myself, and the rest of humanity in our System, has been indoctrinated in a Debt-Currency system.I believe most know that our current system is not the best system, and I would love to see more videos.

  12. TBonePickensetc Says:

    Science is the …
Science is the prediction of the next most probable. Mostly there is no secret government. It is just the workings of the Price System.
We are already part transhumanist currently. That does not change the human condition. Existential opinion or belief will occur in part transhumanists also. Opinion and belief systems will occur. That is why our technate is based on science, not opinion. It is not a belief system oligarchy of human control.. but based on the next most probable.

  13. AlienScientist Says:

    Science… it’s …
Science… it’s brilliant! But there are still many future problems that we lack the foresight to predict! (The ‘Secret Government’ would have corporatized the internet right away, they will never pass Internet2 now that we have a massive databasing/information network like this!)

Also what about building AI supercomps that are X10^80 smarter than us to figure out the science for us? & what if they decide we are obsolete? This is extreme, but there are dozens of scenarios I can imagine…

  14. TBonePickensetc Says:

    ”The central …
”The central problem that still keeps coming to mind is the lack of liberty as the individual would need to REPORT their energy usage to the system itself and someone needs to administer that accounting system.”

This is an issue because you are not familiar with the Technate design. The design is in the last two chapters of the Technocracy Study Course. It is secular and humanitarian … not not a people control or fascist system. Science runs it… not opinion. Keep researching.. the words.

  15. AdvocacyCorporation Says:

    Thermodynamics as a …
Thermodynamics as a guiding principle INSTEAD of an arbitrary price system based on simple supply and demand is great. Stating that prior to 1800 it took 98 percent human energy to accomplish a task and today the opposite is true is great. So I am listening and reading up on this idea.

The central problem that still keeps coming to mind is the lack of liberty as the individual would need to REPORT their energy usage to the system itself and someone needs to administer that accounting system.

  16. TBonePickensetc Says:

    The technate …
The technate removes the the monetary system and uses energy accounting. This is based on thermoeconomics. It is not a Price System. It is an accounting system. Your most important question is encumbered by your libertarian background. At this point you confuse liberty and freedom with money. The two are not connected. There is no charity in a Technate. There is equal consuming power within the resource base. Google non-market economics… Energy Accounting… and start to find some info.

  17. AdvocacyCorporation Says:

    You deleted my …
You deleted my comments when I was just asking a simple question. I love video 2 by the way.

Now please be an adult and answer my question.

Does the Technate advocate removing the existing monetary system as it appears to?

You see you have contradicted yourself so I now need to know the answer to this most basic question which appeared clear that it did advocate this.

Finally, to my most important question. How do you support liberty and freedom in Technate?

  18. KARStarla Says:

    I cant agree more. …
I cant agree more. Hey have you watched the videos on “rent solar panels” yet? They are taking names nationwide. They have over 30,000 folks signed up, they’d like 100,000 by the close of 2008. Theres no charge, free installation and the payment is monthly (like your electric company) I think theres a small deposit you get back when you turn them back in. I thought it was a great idea actually

  19. TBonePickensetc Says:

    Only so many people …
Only so many people can drink out of a stream. In other words romantic ideas about the past are romantic but not really gonna happen. Old folkways are fun to think about… but Technology is now the way we live our lives. Energy conversion. A human can put out about 1/20th of a horse power. A refrigerator about 1/4 horsepower. In other words… Energy conversion is key to thinking about a different social system.

  20. KARStarla Says:

    thats ok :)

    Well …
    thats ok :)

Well honestly I’m not qualified yet to say either way on anything myself. I like to hear everything then weigh it out for myself. I have to prove the lunatic but am warry of someone else just “saying” they are. Otherwise everyones caling everyone crazy and no facts are blowing across the table and it becomes worse lol

I get what your saying about money, I loathe the fact that we need it or are built around it to such an extent.

Makes ya want to go live in the wilderness lol

  21. TBonePickensetc Says:

    Reference my whoops …
    Reference my whoops below.

  22. TBonePickensetc Says:

    Whoops… KARStarla …
Whoops… KARStarla Just accidentally erased your last comment which was a good one. The Illumists are mostly ignorant. They do not actually understand the current dynamic. Mostly we have a system that is ignorant… and exploitive as to money. Choice is usually made according to money. That is a pity .. because bad choices pile higher and higher.

  23. TBonePickensetc Says:

    Not to worry. This …
Not to worry. This is not connected to the fantasy Libertarian dreams and fears about some fake Illumis… This system is for real. It was very popular in the 1930’s… and many aspects were adopted then… social security came about because of our group. There were 17 technocrats in F.D.R.’s cabinet.

  24. KARStarla Says:

    I think its a …
I think its a wonderful system it helps all survive this time, if theres no system then we just fall without any system in place to make this work, theres just going to be mass chaos, confusion, famine, you name it.

Its certainly not how I imagined my life but after watchin stuff on line it certainly is the best option available and its honestly not that bad. Is this something our government is thinking about?

Just as long as I dont have to take that microchip lol I’m ok with it

  25. TBonePickensetc Says:

    Howard Scott made …
Howard Scott made the statement that … social change happens in direct proportion to the back of the stomach approaching the front of the spine.
Our system is very near the crash point. Then social change … for better or worse will happen.
This program is not remotely even related to Marxism. Marxism is a political system. Communism was merely a reactionary construct of Adam Smith type economics. This program is much much more creative than that dead letter.
