pricing of the design, building of a website.?

is there a recommended price for the design of a website, between 10 to 15 pages?, I would be using flash intro, html, dhtml, java, but how would I price this?, any ideas?

For site concepting, information architecture and general consulting; I charge $125/hr.
I typically charge $50/hr for any administrative duties associated with the project.
For basic HTML, I typically charge $75/hr.
For dynamic web site development, I charge $125/hr.
Flash can be easy or complex depending on your experience and the use of ActionScript. For animations, I charge around $75/hr. For ActionScript-based interactivity, I charge at least $150/hr.
Java can be complex and I rarely develop in the language for web sites since it severely slows down page loads. Usually the same objectives can be accomplished with other languages such as Flash ActionScript, JavaScript, etc. But if I were to develop in Java, I would charge $150/hr.

I use these rates as a guide and I don’t typically charge on a per hour basis for a project (such as this) but rather for the entire project. I will calculate the estimated time for each step in the site development and then use my rates to calculate a total cost. I also highly recommend that you draft a scope document between you and the client that states what services specifically that you will perform and the associated cost. Anyone that works in web development will tell you that you will constantly run into clients that want to make changes outside of the original agreement. If you don’t have an agreement, you may get stuck with nothing. If you have a contract, you can draft a change order and provide them with the additional service(s) and the cost.

Depends on what yu want to be paid, i use a per hour pricing structure, a decent price would be $100 per hour, if you dont know how long it;s going to take and you need to give a price quote right away, usually $100 per page for static html, then $20 per photo you need to edit and upload, flash depends on what your doing but $150 per hour is decent price, Java is somthing that you need to decide on, how hard is it going to be and how long will it take, im thinking $120 -$140 per hour
15 pages is alot to do but im guessing the flash and java will be mostly on the front page,

I run a company: New Media Designs Ltd id cost this out as…

Flash. 10 hours inc storyboarding £500
    Design. 10 hours £500
    15 pages of content £1000
    Domain Name & Hosting £200 p.a.

notice i limit the no of hours, this helps me charge more when the client changes their mind, adds new features etc because you know theyre gonna do it just as your 90% finished!
